User Research : Card Sorting

This week we started development on our user research for our project “Pieces Of Me” and used the card sorting method to categorise the questions we will be asking the participants of the experience. We grouped them as a collective group and approved of the grouping of each question, but any individual changes could also be discussed.

We firstly sorted our questions into different input methods such as:

  • Multiple Choice
  • Text Input
  • Numerical Input
  • Yes/No
  • Illustration Choice (Visual Yes/No)

To which we then organised them into how valuable each question is by how personal the questions are.

High Private Value Questions (Far Left)
Potential Security Questions (Middle)
Limited Value Questions (Far Right)

This has helped us develop an understanding of what sort of data we will obtain from the participant and also how each question will be interacted with.
